A few things have happened this week:
- Celebrity LP has gone to a new home
- A new set of tubes has been ordered for the JSX. A quad of JJ 6l6GC’s and four JJ ECC83′s (including a balanced one for the V4 position). Custom Audio Boutique comes through once again
- Saturday will be NGD (New Guitar Day that is
). Jackson Dinky DKMGT incoming! I’ve done a trade for it, so outgoing is the Digitech EX-7 (not using it enough to justify having it) and the Realtone Strat (great guitar, but I’m up to the eyeballs in single coil Strat-like guitars right now!).

New tubes have arrived for the JSX. Will put them in sometime in the next few days
The Jackson looks like it will be an absolute killer gat. Need to give it a little bit of attention, tidy up the wiring a bit as the pots are doing some strange things (tone not working, volume dropping very sharply once you turn down past about 7 on the dial), and some new strings. But the neck is awesome on it, lots of shredding fun to be had!

I put the 6L6 tubes in the other day to make sure they all worked, and now I can’t take them out… They sound too good! I need to put the EL’s back in and record some comparison clips though. I’m having a little bit of trouble believing the JSX bias test points, I think the 6L6′s might be biased too cold at the moment (according to my ear 
).

I’ve decided to turn my attention to my guitars for a little while. After thinking about it for years, I’ve finally come to the decision that I need a custom guitar made for me (I’ll be talking to Adrian at Ash Customworks for this). I’ve always thought, if I get a custom guitar made, then it will be very similar to a Washburn N4. Whilst browsing my hourly fix of the nzguitars.com forums, I saw a post about the new Charvel San Dimas guitars. Following that I had a look at the Charvel website and saw pretty much my dream guitar:

Small body, tobacco burst finish, two humbuckers, FR type trem, reverse headstock = hawt! In fact I can’t think of many things about my dream guitar that this is not. So, now I’m going through my guitar stash to see what I can sell to raise money for a custom made guitar that will be quite similar to this (at least initially, I’m sure Adrian will be able to improve on it ). I’m going to miss whatever I move on, as all the guitars I have left now are good guitars, but a custom guitar really can’t be beat.

Time to sell a few more things I think
I’m really enjoying the combination of JS100 > G2D Custom Overdrive > Epiphone Valve Junior head > Marshall 1×12. So much so, that I’ve used these for four band practices in a row! Quite an achievement for me…
